Full Description

Scatter of pottery and metalwork found metal detecting. Coins (20) mainly late C3, up to Constantine, AD 307-324, pottery all grey wares, fragment of Langton Down brooch. Metalwork centred at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)(but also includes some Med sherds)(S1).
1990: Metal detecting & fieldwalking by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) produced further pottery, including base and footing of Samian ?decorated form (C2) and 2 coins from field centreing on
(see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) - denarius of Marcus Aurelius & bronze of Constantine (S2)(S3).
Further coins include Valentinian, AD 364-375 (S1).
1994: Further coins (& Oxford ware) metal detected (S4). Occasional Med and other period finds as well.
1999: Further detector finds of nine C3/C4 coins. Details in file (S5).
