Full Description

"Remains of hearth, Saxon? crushed grey ware pot (sketched), approximately 150mm diameter. Hearth adjacent to power line pole about one metre below original ground level". Found on line of Saxmundham by-pass (during construction?) by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S1)(S2).
1991: No knowledge of vessel in Halesworth School.
1992: Assessment survey of bypass suggests Med date. Adjoins and possibly relates to KCC 011 (S3).
