Full Description
1989 (trench LEM 1): On a site next to the new access road a succession of earthen floors was discovered, together with post holes and hearths, indicating a sequence of buildings and a pit used to cast lead fishing weights (S5). These start in the C12 and continue through to a timber-framed cottage that survived until about 40 years ago (S1)(S2).
June - October 1993 (trench LEM2): series of pits and posible pottery kiln with kiln bar, wasters, etc (S3).
2000 (trench LEM.3.2000): series of pits, kiln stoke hole(?), kiln wasters etc (S4).
