Full Description
Badly distorted and damaged gold ornament, variously described as hair-rings, lock-rings, or ear-rings. Occasionally found in pairs and dated to between 850-500 BC (S1)(S2). For general discussion of type also see (S3). Found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) metal detecting. Could not remember where, but definitely Suffolk, probably Trimley St Martin or possibly Boyton but could not be sure of either (S4). Consists of gold penannular ring of hollow triangular section with incised concentric line decoration on both exterior faces and in two bands of 4 incised lines on top and bottom of inside face. Also remains of one damaged, very thin end plate in situ. Reconstructed diameter circa 20.5mm (S5). For comparisons & details see (S1-S3).
