The scatter lies immediately to the south west of a hollow, probably an infilled pond or extraction pit, which abutts the N edge of the field. One piece of mortarium and two joining samian ware sherds were found, also a bone peg of unknown date (S1)(S2).
A further small group of pottery sherds, one samian the rest grey wares including micaceous, found by D Staedman, Sept 1997.
