Full Description
September 1996: detector rally finds include fairly complete bow brooch with pin held between two pierced lugs. There is a very corroded (setting?) shape on top of the head. The rounded expanded bow area is hollow underneath. Details, drawing and photograph in (S1)(S2). The brooch is not exactly parllelled in either Hattatt or Hull and Hawkes. Could date to late Hallstatt (C5 BC) or C3 BC - see (S1). Note IA pottery and coins to E (HSK 007 & 011) & N (HSK 022).
Also BA, Rom, Sax & Med.
