Full Description

TM 2273 4834: Metal detector find, during rally, of tanged and collared chisel/leather working knife. Found on mainly Rom site. Complete except for post BA peforation in centre of blade (for pendant?), and corroded blade edge. A possible attempted incomplete perforation appears further up the blade. Length 87mm. Area fieldwalked as part of SE Suffolk survey. Finds include LPeh worked flints, IA (17 sherds), Roman (67 sherds), Early (3 sherds) and Middle 'Ipswich' (2 sherds) Saxon, pottery. (S2)
Also undated pin, bronze med buckle fragment, pmed lead token, and med bronze annular brooch found during IMDC rally, 1997. S3
