Full Description
Maps of pre 1539 and c.1568 showing 'The Warrener's Lodge' on Woolpit Heath (S1)(S2). 'It was provided with a prominent chimney-stack..... This site, too, is now lost; taken by a great gravel pit' (S2). Not shown on Hodskinson's 1783 map or OS 1st ed map of 1836.
Ogiliby's map shows "a warren on the Hill", 1675 (S3).
