Full Description
Scatter of medieval pottery - 84 sherds C12 ware with sparse-medium shell temper, 552 sherds C13-C14 wares, c. 250 fragments of chalky fired clay, 7 lava quern fragments, a small whetstone with a perforated end, oyster shells and animal bones. Saxo-Norman St Neots and Thetford-type wares also present - see Sax.
Field named as 'Hill Field' on 1837 Tithe Apportionment, but as 'Hall Field' by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), the present owner (S1).
