Full Description

1998: Metal detector find of blade end of socketed axe with beginning of socket void hammered flat. Blade width 4.7 cms, surviving length 3.4cms, thickness 1.0cms (all measurements from drawing)(S1).
Cited NGR spans Belstead Brook and parish boundary, though said to be from Hintlesham so presumably found south of water course. Findspot must be close to edge, or within enclosure, HNS 010.
