Full Description

1999: Unsuccessful tree ring analysis of oak timbers from hunting lodge of circa 1555, when Thomas Kitson of Hengrave Hall held the manor (see Listed building entry - LBS 363104). No acceptable cross-matches found. Timber different in character to Hengrave Hall a few km away. Thought to be more or less contemporaneous, suggests different sources of timber. Details in (S1).
