Full Description
Human skull fragment found by a digger driver while excavating ponds and channels thorugh peat deposits for the new RSPB reserve. Noticed when it rolled off a spoil heap. It came from an area of woody peat with bog oaks and patches of shelly deposits, beneath humified and cultivated peat.
Fragment consists of the rear right side of a skull, peat stained, with no fresh breaks. No other remains were noticed or visible (S1).
