Full Description

Baldwin's Lode, sinuous east-west large drainage channel linking River Lark to west and Eriswell Lode to east. Extant in 1581. Shown on Hodskinson's 1783 map (though not extending as far as Eriswell Lode on his map). Probably partly improved natural water course. Construction date unknown but possibly associated with Abbot Baldwin (AD 1065-1097) of Bury (though not in hands of Bury Abbey at time).
For associated bank (Crossbank) to north, see MNL 527 (S1).
