Summary

Large broad bank earthwork, circa 35m broad by 60cm high, running roughly westwards from Icklingham Belt. Marked on OS 1880s map as N boundary of arable field. The bank is visible on visualised lidar data and is most likely post medieval in date.

Full Description

Large broad bank earthwork, circa 35m broad by 60cm high, running roughly westwards from Icklingham Belt. Marked on OS 1880s map as N boundary of arable field. Earlier maps not checked.

August 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A large earthwork bank, most likely post medieval in date, is seen on visualised lidar data (S2). This bank has been recorded as part of IKL 370 along with further banks identified by this survey. The monument polygon has been amended to correlate with the location of the feature from the lidar data.
