Full Description

Two banks recorded in rapid earthwork survey in 2001.
TL 8167 7210 (centre): bank along N side of compartment - probably marking edge of 'Nut Covert' as shown on 1884 OS map;
TL 8202 7197 (centre); bank along SE side of compartment - probably marking edge of former arable field.

October 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An earthwork bank of a probable post medieval date is seen on visualised lidar data (from a survey flown in 2015) (S2). The bank is most likely a former post medieval boundary relating to “Nut Covert” mapped on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (S3). The bank recorded by the rapid earthwork survey (see above) at TL 8167 7210 was not seen on the sources consulted as part of this project. The monument polygon has been amended to the position of the bank as recorded from the visualised lidar data.
