Full Description
Scatter of pottery found in fieldwalking. Two handmade sherds, probably ESax. Ipswich ware sherds in S part of field towards church (see also SUT 029, one sherd in churchyard) and a couple of sherds also from field to E at (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Very few (two) Thetford type ware sherds.
Also a very thin scatter of Rom and a scatter of Med (S1).
Metal detected finds made by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) include:-
1987: MSax/LSax decorated gilded pin head from (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S4). 1988: ?LSax tag/strap end & ?LSax vessel mount? gilded with interlaced decoration (S5).
1989: Fragment pin with facetted head, facetted pin head (S7), strap end with animal headed terminal & niello decorated panel, ESax?, earring? & sceatta (S7)(see parish file for details)(S6).
1990: Further detector finds include caterpillar brooch fragment. Details and drawing in parish file (S6).
