Monument record ELV 183 - Undated possible boundary bank.

Please read our .

Summary

A large undated bank is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The bank most likely relates to a post medieval boundary bank not mapped on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. However, it is also possible that the boundary bank maybe earlier than post medieval in date. The bank can be seen as very low earthwork in the 1940s and has subsequently been levelled and seen as a cropmark in the 1950s. The bank is within an area of Second World War anti landing obstacles (ELV 033), some of which intersect the boundary bank.
