Full Description

December 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Two possible undated banks are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1). The features may relate to former boundary banks; however, it is equally possible that the features are natural in origin and are situated within a large area of geological patterned ground. The possible banks are in close relation to a post medieval boundary bank mapped on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (S2) (approximately centred at TL 8001 7748), possible post medieval enclosures to the east (ELV 178 and ELV 179), a First World War training ground (IKL 352) and a Second World War bombing range (IKL 353) to the south. Due to a lack of adequate control points when rectifying the photos, the locational accuracy of the mapping may have been slightly reduced.
