Full Description

August 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An area of earthwork banks, of a probable post medieval date, are seen on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data (S1-S2). The banks most likely relate to post medieval boundary banks forming a system of plantation boundaries, field boundaries and tree belts. This record incudes previously unrecorded features mapped by the Breckland National Mapping Programme and previously recorded features from field visits (IKL 160, IKL 161, IKL 162 and IKL 163). Additional banks which were not previously recorded and are mapped clearly on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map (S3) have not been mapped as these features fall outside of the scope of the survey. The bank located at TL 8001 7448 can be seen as an earthwork in 1951 (S1) on aerial photographs and is presumed to have been levelled. It is also possible that the bank and ditch located at TL 8015 7425 may possibly relate to a modern forestry feature.
