Full Description
Scatter of Rom sherds plus Rom coin, followed by excavation, circa 1965, of pottery kiln.
1963: Numerous Rom sherds found on (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)(S2).
1964: Copy of coin (of Tetricus ?) picked up on field where Rom pottery found (S3).
1965: `Roman kiln found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) and others. Normal type circular pedestal, diameter 2 feet 6 inches. Field now ploughed' (S4). Grid reference recorded (incorrectly ?) as (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in (S2) (S3) (S4). "RB settlement, pottery, piece of bronze, imitation Tetricus coin" (S1). January 1993: Metal detector finds by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) including five bronze coins of C3 and C4 date, and a lead steelyard weight, Rom or later (S5) See also PMed.
