Full Description

Domesday vill of Colestuna. Possible moat with remains of large fish pond to SW. Occupied, isolated (S1).
Fish pond named (S2). Fish pond marked (S3).
'Moat' desilted October 1998; appears to be a linear pond with a shallower spur +/- at right angles on the west side. A new drain has been cut from the SW corner of the linear pond to a large roughly square pond to the west. The upcast spoil from this drain contained three sherds of medieval pottery and two PMed sherds (S4). No real signs of a moat circuit around the house. Large pond to south of the square pond is modern.
