Monument record HSK 009 - Field 0004 (Rom)

Scatter of finds from metal detecting. Coins (M Aurelius ? to Valentinian) ; finger ring - date Un ; millefiori enamelled circular disc, probably from brooch, pottery sherds. Some probably Sax sherds and a brooch, possibly made from a Rom coin (S1). Pottery distribution from fieldwalking survey shows a concentration towards the NW of the area, around (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)(S3).
1986: Further metal detected finds include coins, a bronze eagle terminal, 2nd part of escutcheon plate, bow brooch (mid C1, IA/Rom), bronze "toe" shaped casting (?from statue), note ritual object(?) from Rom scatter to W (HSK 011) and a bronze lock bolt. Further details in (S4). Bronze cosmetic palette (mortar with end loop and animal (dog?) head terminal. Also a bronze fitting in the shape of a duck (S5).
1996: Further finds from N end of field from detector rally - details in (S6)(S7). Site probably extends to field to N - see HSK 022. Further Rom and Sax finds to the SE - HSK 007.
