Full Description
Numerous linear ditches of unknown date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, centred on TM 22963986 in the field to the north of Burnaville Hall, Levington. The linear ditches are mainly orientated on a north-west to south-east alignment but do not appear to be forming a single coherent field system. May represent several phases of field systems superimposed. Some of the linear ditches may represent field boundaries but they may also be related to modern field drainage. Many of the marks in the field also appear to be of geological origin (S1) (S2) (S3).
Note metal detectoed finds from this field, mainly Medieval but includes Late Saxon stirrup terminal (see Portable Antiquities Database).

Also 3 burnt flints found on surface - undateable but possibly bronze age. (S5)
Possible square enclosure to the south of the linear ditches. Visible on 2007 and 2015 Google Earth images (S6)
