The interpretation of ring ditches previously identified at this site has been revised and they are now felt to represent modern and ephemeral features relating to recent activity.

The earthworks of a post medieval to modern bank and ditch were levelled following archaeological monitoring. The levelled feature corresponds to a boundary depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map.

A causewayed ring ditch has been recorded at this location on aerial photographs, however further assessment has suggested that this may relate to non-archaeological features.

Possible World War Two military activity – probably relating to training – is visible as earthworks and possible structures on 1940s aerial photographs. The activity could, however, relate to agriculture, quarrying or construction instead.

A track or green lane, depicted on the 1652 Somerleyton Estate Map, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs.
