Full Description
1963: C13 sherds in IPSMG, `found during sewerage excavations', grid reference (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) approximately (S1): is E of local finds and probably inaccurate.
1982: Following discovery of (Med) pottery (S2) 2 small trenches revealed pair parallel ditches containing large quantities C12-C14 Med coarse ware, including 'Melton Shelly Ware', probably of local manufacture (S3)(R1)(S6)(S7). For illustrations and discussion of Medieval pottery see (S7).
1985: Short cross penny, probably John (AD 1199-1216) found metal detecting (S5).
1987: Also copper alloy attachment in form of a ?bird's head & body, flat back, function & date unknown, found metal detecting by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S4).
